BIO4FUTURE<\/strong> \u2013 Podlaskie Centre for the Conservation of Fungal and Plant Diversity is a project being implemented between 2025 and 2028 as part of the project \u2018Conservation and restoration of biological and landscape diversity and ecosystem functions in the Podlaskie Voivodeship\u2019.<\/p>\n

Its main objective is to preserve the species and genetic diversity of the mycobiota and flora within the Podlaskie Province.<\/p>\n

Activities under BIO4FUTURE primarily focus on species requiring special attention, i.e. those under legal protection and\/or threatened with extinction, as well as those that are rare or specific to the Podlaskie region.<\/p>\n

These activities include:<\/div>\n
I. Establishment and expansion of conservation collections <\/strong><\/div>\n

  2. Fungi Extract Bank\u00ae <\/li>\n
  3. Fungal Culture Collection<\/li>\n
  4. Field bank of endangered plant species <\/li>\n
  5. Field bank of floristic diversity of the Podlaskie region <\/li>\n
  6. Herbarium<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    II. Dissemination of knowledge on the conservation of fungal and plant diversity in the Podlaskie Province<\/strong><\/div>\n

    1. Compilation and publication of scientific monographs\n

      • Fungi of the Podlaskie region: Volume I: Polyporaceae s.l., Volume II: Corticiaceae s.l.<\/li>\n
      • Podlaskie Red List of Plants<\/li>\n
      • Flora of the Podlasie Region: Part I. Mosses, liverworts and clubmosses, Part II. Flowering plants, clubmosses, horsetails and ferns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Electronic database of the regional Podlasie Red List of plants and fungi<\/li>\n
      • Educational, informational and promotional activities<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The task is carried out by an experienced team, including experts in mycology, botany (phytosociology, bryology), non-timber forest use, and nature and environmental protection.<\/p>\n
